The Netflix series premiered in 2022, rapidly becoming one of its biggest hits and launching Jenna Ortega's career to new heights. The series showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar discussed the second season of the series and how it'll up the stakes of the show's universe.

"This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore,” they said to Tudum.

Aside from new characters and situations, they assured viewers that the new season would explore more of the lore of "The Addams Family," the series that inspired "Wednesday."
