NBC recently revealed that Joe Manganiello, the charismatic actor known for his roles in Magic Mike and True Blood, will be making his game show debut as the host of the highly-anticipated Deal or No Deal Island spinoff, set to premiere sometime in 2024. The news has sparked curiosity and excitement among fans as Manganiello steps into the spotlight of this iconic game show.

The announcement came through a teaser video that featured the long-standing host of Deal or No Deal, Howie Mandel. In the video, Mandel humorously conveyed his inability to host the show on “an undisclosed island location a world away from civilization” due to his aversion to germs and the presence of bugs and snakes. With a playful tone, Mandel began listing the qualifications required for a new host, including someone adventurous, a lover of games, and, naturally, “someone who’s good-looking like me.”

Just as Mandel teased, “Not your average Joe,” Joe Manganiello dramatically appeared into the frame, capturing the moment with his signature charisma and charm. The torch was metaphorically passed as Manganiello accepted the “deal” to host Deal or No Deal, an act reminiscent of the classic game show format.

Mandel handed him a briefcase, a nod to the show’s iconic element, which contained plane tickets, masks, gloves, and ointment, adding a humorous twist to the transition.

Manganiello, seemingly puzzled by the briefcase’s contents, opened it and grinned, saying, “We’re gonna have a good time.” His infectious enthusiasm and charismatic presence immediately left fans eager to see how he would take on this new role.

According to a press release from NBC, Deal or No Deal Island promises to be an exciting spin on the classic game. In this version, 13 contestants are transported to the elusive Banker’s private island to compete for cash in a season-long, fully immersive competition. While the contestants will no longer be confined to a soundstage, they will still face thrilling challenges and mind-bending dilemmas to outwit the Banker for potentially the biggest cash prize in the show’s history.

As the host, Manganiello will play a pivotal role in guiding contestants through this exhilarating adventure. He will lead the gameplay, convey the Banker’s tempting offers, and provide support as contestants navigate some of their most challenging decisions. His charisma, charm, and genuine excitement for the show promise to make this new iteration a must-watch event.

Manganiello is taking over for Mandel, who also judges America’s Got Talent with Manganiello’s ex-wife, Sofïa Vergara. Manganiello filed for divorce from Vergara in July of this year after seven years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

During a recent interview with ET, the actress opened up about the many changes she has experienced this year and how she has embraced them despite the unexpected situation she has faced. “It’s been very interesting, you know. It’s been an interesting year for me,” she said to the publication.

“A lot of changes, a lot of good and craziness, and bad things happen and good things happen. You know, what makes life so entertaining and interesting,” Sofia explained, adding that she “can’t complain” as she has “had a great, great time.”
