As we eagerly await the first-ever Primavera Sound Madrid, let’s take a look back at Primavera Sound 2023 in Barcelona which closed out a successful edition filled with great music, and now is passing the torch to Spain’s capital for the upcoming weekend. The event in the Catalan city drew an impressive crowd of 253,000 attendees.

Blur

Blur rocked the house during their Primavera Sound reunion set, wowing the crowd by flawlessly mixing their classic hits with fresh tunes from their upcoming album. Their energetic performance had everyone on their feet, and they even surprised everyone by dusting off a forgotten b-side gem from 1993.

Rosalía

Rosalía, the sensational Spanish pop diva, made a triumphant comeback to her hometown of Barcelona at the legendary festival. The Catalan singer took the stage in a captivating black bodysuit, accompanied by her fierce backup dancers. She created an atmosphere of pure excitement, unleashing an electrifying performance with the crowd singing to every word.

Kendrick Lamar

The Barcelona crowd went wild for Kendrick Lamar as he took the stage, belting out his biggest hits like “Humble” and “Backseat Freestyle” with an unmatched energy. And just when they thought it couldn’t get any better, Kendrick surprised everyone by bringing out Baby Keem, who had already hyped up the crowd earlier in the night.

Tokischa, a bold and rule-breaking artist from the Dominican Republic, captivated audiences with her passionately calculated performances. Matching her backup dancers, she dressed in a suit and tie.

Trueno

Trueno, the Argentine rapper, gave an exhilarating performance. Singing a mix of his popular tracks like “Atrevido,” “Argentina,” and a lively finale featuring IKV in “Dance Crip.”

Villano Antillano

The Puerto Rican singer also known as Villano Antillano, took the stage, bringing her empowering anthems celebrating sexual and gender diversity. Infused with urban rhythms, particularly trap music, she captivated the audience with her unique musical creations.

Caroline Polachek

Caroline Polachek’s performance had the crowd going wild right from the start. The best part of the show was when she sang ‘Sunset’ with a flamenco vibe.

Isabella Lovestory

Honduran perreo-pop princess Isabella Lovestory, who is also scheduled to perform at a smaller venue in Madrid alongside Tokischa, Villano Antillano, Lil Ella, and DJ Playero, captivated the crowd in Barcelona with her magnetic and sexy stage presence.
