Antonio Banderas joins the cast of ‘Indiana Jones 5’

Fans of the popular franchise can expect to see Antonio sharing the screen with Harrison Ford, who will be returning to portray his famous character.

Antonio Banderas is booked and busy! The iconic actor has joined the cast of the highly-anticipated movie  Indiana Jones 5 .

The film announcement comes after the 60-year-old actor revealed he will also be starring in the new Italian TV series  The Monster of Florence: A True Story, which is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling novel under the same name.

Fans of the popular franchise can expect to see Antonio sharing the screen with Harrison Ford, who will be returning to portray his famous character, along with Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge Thomas Kretschmann, and  Fantastic Beasts   star Mads Mikkelsen.

And although some details about the upcoming adventure are yet to be revealed, it was reported that filming is set to start at Pinewood Studios near London, and the release for the film is scheduled for July 29, 2022.

This new installment is the first of the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise to be produced with Disney’s involvement, and will be directed by Oscar nominee James Mangold, and produced by Steven Spielberg and Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel. John Williams.

Disney recently released a statement, declaring that Harrison Ford was forced to take a break from filming, after suffering a shoulder injury on the set of the movie, while “rehearsing for a fight scene.”
