In a few days, the renown Miss Universe competition will take place and as a proud latino publication, we want to introduce you to the beautiful latina contestants who will represent latinos all over the world. Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and Venezuela all have serious contestants who will do their best to win the iconic crown.

This 69th edition of Miss Universe will take place next Sunday, May 16 at 8pm ET / 7C at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and it will be broadcasted on Telemundo. The special night will be hosted by Jacky Bracamontes and Carlos Ponce, while Carlos Adyan and Nastassja Bolívar will join the broadcast to bring all the details behind this competition.

Miss Argentina, Alina Luz Akselrad

Alina Luz Akselrad, 23 years old. She loves writing and just published her first book. She is also interested in defending children’s rights and has a Harvard certificate on this subject matter.

Miss Venezuela, Mariángel Villasmil

Mariángel Villasmil, 25 years old, is a psychology student and a certified pastry chef. She has a bakery called Slainte Cakes in her city, Maracaibo. After undergoing a complicated cosmetic operation, she now supports the Love Yourself movement, which promotes self-esteem, acceptance and self-confidence.

Miss Bolivia, Lenka Nemar

Lenka Nemar, 24 years old, she is a human rights activist, standing up for social justice and gender equality. She was born in Bolivia, but is of Croatian and Lebanese descent.

Miss Brasil, Julia Gama

Julia Gama, 27 years old, she studied chemical engineering and has a diploma in arts and drama. She lived in China for three years and is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and can communicate in Mandarin and German.

Miss Chile ,Daniela Nicolás

Daniela Nicolás, 28-year-old, is an actress, professional makeup artist, and sign language student. She has worked on various channels in her country such as Canal 13, TVN and Chilevisión, as well as on international networks such as ESPN and FOX Sports.

Miss Colombia, Laura Olascuaga

Laura Olascuaga, 25 years old, is a television journalist from the Universidad del Norte de Barranquilla. Her biggest dream is to become a Colombian diplomat and represent her country.

Miss Costa Rica, Ivonne Cerdas

Ivonne Cerdas, 28 years old, is a software engineer and works as an analyst in an international corporation. She is fond of martial arts and has participated in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions.

Miss República Dominicana, Kimberly Jiménez

Kimberly Jiménez, 24-years old, is studying forensic science and business administration. In her spare time, she volunteers at a shelter where she helps children who have been victims of abuse and neglect.

Miss Ecuador, Leyla Espinoza

Leyla Espinoza, 24 years old, is an international business student. She also works as a model and an accounting assistant. Leyla is a passionate advocate for women‘s rights and her goal is to empower the women in her community to get ahead and start their own businesses to fend for themselves.

Miss El Salvador, Vanessa Velásquez

Vanessa Velásquez, 25 years old, is a model and has a foundation called Angel Hands by Vane, which supports children in hospitals, brings food to low-income communities and helps those who have been affected by natural disasters.

Miss Honduras, Cecilia Rossell

Cecilia Rossell, 25 years old, studies social communications and works with various charitable foundations. In honor of her mother, who died of cancer, Cecilia spends part of her time visiting those who are fighting cancer in hospitals.

Andrea Meza, 26 years old, has a degree in software engineering and is committed to women‘s rights and inclusion. She likes to practice extreme sports like rappelling and sand boarding.

Miss Nicaragua, Ana Marcelo

Ana Marcelo, 24 years old, is an agro-industrial engineer. She is involved in various social projects such as Dar para Salvar, a campaign created by her to help medical staff create bio-safety kits. She also works in other charities such as Navidad nos une and Todos juntos to help marginalized communities in her country.

Miss Panamá, Carmen Jaramillo

Carmen Jaramillo, 26 years old, is studying two careers; journalism at the University of Panama and psychology at the Universidad Latina de Panamá. She also works as a model and founded the movement, Connect your power.

Miss Paraguay, Vanessa Castro

Vanessa Castro, 28 years old, works as an architect, designing houses and buildings. She is a graduate of the National University of Asunción, where - in her time as a student - she dedicated herself to the rehabilitation of children with different abilities.

Miss Perú, Janick Maceta Del Castillo

Janick Maceta, 26 years old, works as an audio engineer at one of New York‘s most iconic studios, The Manhattan Center. She is a young entrepreneur and co-founded the movement called Top of New York Music (T.O.N.Y), which is registered as a brand that helps young musicians produce their music.

Miss Puerto Rico, Estefanía Soto Torres

Estefanía Soto Torres, 29 years old, has studies in foreign languages and a specialty in intercultural mediation. She studied in France, Belgium and Mexico. She has also worked in various international organizations such as Eurocities in Brussels, the French embassy in Washington D.C. and the European Patent Organization in The Hague.
