It’s finally happening! The friends reunion special is officially set to be produced at the beginning of next year.
The cast will reunite on the set of the iconic sitcom after months of delay caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, making it difficult for the film crew to plan and produce the new episode.
Matthew Perry took to Twitter to announce the news, making fans of the legendary show thrilled to know the plans are back in motion.
The 51-year-old actor wrote “Looks like we have a busy year coming up,” adding that the reunion is being rescheduled for the beginning of March, “and that’s the way we like it!”
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer will portray the beloved characters that relate to an entire generation of young adults, as the series are now being watched by a whole new audience with the show available to stream online.
HBO was also the winner for the rights to the ten seasons of Friends, after an impressive battle between Netflix and a $400 million final number to acquire the show.
The original plans for the one episode revival were supposed to start in spring of 2020, however as the COVID-19 virus advanced, a new schedule was organized for the summer, now we hope the HBO Max’s launch is able to accomplish their goal and make it possible for the crew and the cast to shoot in a safe environment.
The feeling of nostalgia is real now that a new episode is coming soon to our screens.
