Miley Cyrus  completely wowed fans recently with her powerful cover of The Cranberries’ classic hit song, “Zombie.” The singer performed the Irish band’s 1993 single as part of the #SaveOurStages (#SOS) festival.

“Zombie” was one of two covers performed by the artist, who took to the stage as part of a fundraiser organized to support US grassroots music venues during the coronavirus pandemic. Cyrus later went on to cover The Cure’s classic “Boys Don’t Cry” before ending her short set with new single of her own, “Midnight Sky.” The event was held in Los Angeles, California on October 17 at the beloved Whiskey a Go Go, a venue many fans are thrilled to support during such a difficult time for small businesses.

During her performance, the “Slide Away” singer made sure to take a moment in order to pay tribute to the Whiskey a Go Go, a venue that helped give iconic bands like The Doors, Guns N’ Roses and Jimi Hendrix their big break in the coveted LA music scene.

“Let’s do what we can to keep this historic landmark alive,” Miley declared onstage.

The star’s powerful performance of “Zombie,” a song made famous by the late, great Dolores O’Riordan, drew a ton of praise from fans online.

“Miley Cyrus covering Zombie by The Cranberries is my religion,” declared one fan on Twitter.

“Miley Cyrus covering Zombie by The Cranberries... pure excellence!!” another added.

It was all for a good cause, too, with Cyrus raising money for the National Independent Venue Association’s #SaveOurStages campaign, which was been put together to help get the bipartisan Save Our Stages Act passed. The act would establish a $10billion (£7.8billion) small business association fund to support small venues struggling due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Miley posted a couple videos of her performances onto her Instagram page, racking up millions of views from her followers who were all wowed by her presence on stage and how perfectly her voice fits with the classic Cranberries tune.

Actress Lili Reinhart commented under the video calling the singer a, “rock n roll queen.”

“I don‘t know why they keep cataloging Miley as a popstar, SHE IS A ROCKSTAR,” said one fan.

Another wrote, “nah ur voice was made for this omg i love it.”

Among all of the praise for Miley’s cover of the song were hoards of fans begging the singer to put her cover on streaming services so they can listen over and over again.

From Cyrus’ other covers, like her iconic rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” we already know Miley’s unique voice takes things to a whole other level--but her performance of “Zombie” just reminded fans all over again.
