Salma Hayek continues to be outspoken about Hollywood's standards of aging. The actress, who recently opened up about the challenges she faced in the industry, is known for embracing a natural approach to beauty. However, she recently revealed that she has taken a more modern step in her anti-aging regimen.
In an interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut, the Mexican icon opened up about undergoing an aesthetic procedure on her neck, an area she felt had started showing signs of aging.
"I’ve been very consistent and very simple," she shared. "I didn’t jump on the beauty trend bandwagon in my 30s, 40s, or 50s. But the one thing I did stick with was radio-frequency treatments."
Salma continued these treatments until, as she put it, “I hit a plateau. I told myself, ‘It’s time.’” The star noticed she was not feeling comfortable with the appearance of her neck. “It was starting to look like a turkey,” she admitted with humor.
While trying to avoid diving into plastic surgery, Salma was introduced to Ultherapy PRIME, a cutting-edge procedure that uses ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen production, resulting in firmer, lifted skin.
The actress decided to try it out. “I hadn’t even tried the regular Ultherapy before, but it was similar to what I was already doing with ultrasound,” she explained. After the procedure, she was not only impressed by the results but was also asked to become an ambassador for the brand.
Ultherapy now features her on its website, highlighting her as a glowing example of their "nonsurgical lift" solution. A few weeks post-treatment, Salma bumped into none other than Victoria Beckham, who immediately noticed the difference. "I was pleased," she said about the encounter with a smile.
The Mexican star has an active lifestyle, which includes meditation and dancing. "I dance every day," she confessed, adding that she even danced while getting her makeup done. “They were playing Bad Bunny, and I said, ‘Sorry, I need to take a break.’”
When it comes to skincare, Salma says she doesn’t wash her face in the morning. "Why would it get dirty while I’m sleeping?" she pointed out. Instead, she enjoys massaging cream into her face and body. “It’s all about pleasure,” she said.
"I try to exercise while I’m putting on my cream. Stretch the muscles—it's an organic way of working out,” she explained to the publication. Salma has previously shared a glimpse at her fitness routine, posting clips of herself while running on the treadmill, swimming, and getting relaxing massages.
