Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez relax at Stagecoach amid Blue Origin flight backlash

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Stagecoach

Amid so much backlash following the latest Blue Origin space flight, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are spending a relaxing weekend at Stagecoach to take their mind off things.

The couple cued up a date night at the 2025 Country Music Festival in Indio, California on Friday as they continue to face criticism for their historic all-women trip to space. In photos of the pair at the event, both Bezos and his fiancée were gussied up in their finest western wear, matching the theme of the long-running festival.

For the festivities, the Amazon founder rocked a simple look in a black T-shirt and a pair of bootcut denim jeans, according to photos obtained by Page Six. He made the look his own with a pair of dark boots, a matching hat, and black sunglasses. Though her outfit was a little less visible in the darker photos, Sánchez appeared to wear a white romper and a matching set of cowgirl boots. She covered the cute outfit with a large dark jacket and wore a cowgirl hat with her partner, whom she’s expected to marry in June.

The space flight, which is currently getting a lot of negative attention, took place earlier this month. Though the space flight bragged about being legendary for boasting an all-female crew, women like Olivia Munn and Emily Ratajkowski criticized the effort, wondering why spending so much money on something like this is necessary.

On April 3, during an appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, the actress called out the flight crew for making the expensive trip while there are so many people in the country right now who can’t even afford groceries.

“I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now,” Munn said at the time.

Sánchez has since responded to critics of their 10-minute flight to space in an interview with PEOPLE, admitting the negative remarks get her “fired up.”

“I would love to have them come to Blue Origin and see the thousands of employees that don’t just work here but they put their heart and soul into this vehicle,” she told the outlet. “They love their work and they love the mission and it’s a big deal for them.”
