Ben Affleck has officially closed the chapter on discussing his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, after breaking his silence in a recent interview, it was revealed that this was his way of "clearing the air one last time," as he is now ready to move forward and focus on himself and his professional life.
A close source to the actor talked to People about his latest statement on the cover story of GQ and explained that after sharing his thoughts, he is moving on with his life. "Ben’s doing well," the insider said. "The GQ story was kind of all about clearing the air one last time."
It seems the actor is focusing on his career and his family. "He’s done talking about JLo," the source continued. "He’s not proud that their marriage didn’t work out. He didn’t want to hurt her. But now, he wants to just focus on his kids and work."
The former couple tied the knot in July 2022 until their divorce in August 2024. During his latest interview, he revealed that there were no dramatic or scandalous reasons behind their separation. "There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue," he said.
The couple finalized their divorce in January 2025, and they were officially declared single by February 21 of that year. According to the source, Ben is "very passionate about work" and looking forward to upcoming projects, especially after the theatrical release of 'The Accountant 2,' which hits theaters on April 25.
This marks his return to the big screen after his appearances in 'Air' and 'The Flash' in 2023. The source added, "He thrives when he’s busy," "My life is actually pretty drama-free," he told GQ, adding that he has nothing but respect for JLo.
Most recently, he attended the premiere of his new movie with Jennifer's twins, Emme and Max, as they are known to be good friends with his children, Fin, Violet, and Samuel.
“I’m thrilled that the kids are here with me. The relationships that you can have with children like that, it’s the joy of my life. And those kids are amazing, and I’m glad that this is a movie they want to come to," he told Entertainment Tonight.
