Date Night

Adele makes rare public appearance with fiancé Rich Paul for NBA playoffs

Adele and her fiancé Rich Paul had a rare public date night, enjoying the first playoff game for the Los Angeles Lakers

As she takes an indefinite break from music and performing, Adele is making the most of her free time by enjoying a basketball game with her fiancé, Rich Paul. The couple, who have been together since 2021, watched the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in game one of the NBA Playoffs on Saturday night.

Of course, the happy couple was sitting courtside, and while both parties seemed locked into the game, the sports agent and the singer still took some time away from basketball to talk with one another. For the occasion, Rich was wearing a baseball cap and black sweatshirt, and Adele matched his casual theme an oversized shirt.

While the home team--which includes Rich Paul's client, LeBron James--lost the game, that didn't seem to affect just how much fun the pair had while watching the game.

After completing her two-year residency in Las Vegas, Adele has been enjoying some downtime with her loved ones. Once the shows came to a close, the crooner announced an indefinite hiatus, explaining in an emotional farewell: "It’s time for the next chapter and it’s time for the next season of my life.”

While we see the couple together here and there, it's become pretty clear that Adele and Rich both try to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. Because of her fiancé's profession, it's no surprise why they are most often seen together supporting the Lakers during their games.

The couple has also been keeping fans on their toes in relation to their marital status, with Adele referring to Rich as her "husband" during a show back in November 2023. However, they later confirmed they hadn't, in fact, got married, though in August 2024, Adele announced they were engaged.

Adele confirmed the news during a residency in Germany after the star told the 80,000 people crowd in Munich she saw a sign in the crowd that read, "Will you marry me?"

She responded, "I can't marry you because I'm already getting married!" She then turned her hand so that her engagement ring could be seen on the huge screens at the purpose built stadium, which brought the crowd to their feet.
