Sarah Jessica Parker’s daughters have no interest in following their famous parents into acting. The 60-year-old star - who has been married to Matthew Broderick since 1997 and has James, 22, as well as 15-year-old twins Tabitha and Marion with him - has made her name with starring roles in hits such as ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘Hocus Pocus’ but her husband admitted that their two youngest are unlikely to follow in their footsteps.
Matthew told E! News: “One of them definitely is not, she says, right now but I don’t think so.” But their son James has managed to start up an acting career and after appearing alongside his dad in an episode of ‘Elsbeth’. Matthew opened up on just how “fun” it was to spend time with him son on set.
He added: “It was great, we had two days together. “It was really fun to hang around the craft service table and eat snacks. He was nervous but he got over that. We had a great couple of days. It was great.”
At the time, James was also thrilled to get the chance to make his debut alongside the ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ star.
He told People: “What a thrill it was to work side by side with my dad — who also happens to be my favorite actor! The whole experience of working on Elsbeth was beyond exciting and I am very grateful to the producers for giving me this opportunity!”
Matthew was “proud and happy” to team up with his eldest for an episode of the police procedural comedy drama, which serves as a spin-off of ‘The Good Wife.’
He said: “I was so proud and happy to work with my son James.
“Working with everyone on Elsbeth was a pleasure and I’m excited for the episode to come out.”
Prior to that, Matthew admitted that that becoming a father in the first place was a bit of a surprise for him but is “glad” that it happened.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It just happens, you know? You don’t really know how to do it, and then suddenly you’re a dad. But I’m very happy that that happened!”
