Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have shared a special bond for many years. And while the pair are known for keeping their personal life private, the two musicians were known to be very close after multiple collaborations. However, apart from their musical careers, they spent quality time together, as they had a similar experience with success.
Their friendship, which has spanned over a decade, has remained mostly private, but Sheeran recently shared a glimpse at his bond with the fan-favorite singer, during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
The musician, who is preparing for his performance at Coachella, following Anitta and FKA Twigs cancellations, revealed that they don't see each other as much as they used to, but still keep in touch.
“I see her when I see her,” Sheeran said during his conversation on the podcast. Reflecting on how often they cross paths he said, “I probably see her, like, four times a year.” Despite their busy schedules, the pair have managed to maintain a strong connection.
When they do get together, he shared that their reunions are deep, meaningful conversations. “We have ‘proper sit-down, six-hour catch-ups,’” he said, adding, “I think that’s, like, a really nice way to do it.”
The pair seem to cherish their moments together when they have a chance to reconnect. The singer went on to talk about their time on the road in 2013 and 2014. The two spent nearly every day together, a time that Sheeran recalls fondly.n
“I lived in Nashville, and she lived in Nashville,” he explained. “We used to fly to and from the gigs together and do all sorts of [stuff]. I literally spent almost every single day with her for about six months," he detailed, adding that he gets "nostalgic" revisiting their texts.
Sheeran and Swift have teamed up on several hits. The duo has collaborated on memorable songs like “End Game,” “Everything Has Changed,” “The Joker and The Queen,” and “Run."
While Sheeran and Swift don’t discuss their friendship, he previously talked to Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1 and described their relationship as "therapy." He explained that talking to Swift felt different than talking to anyone else because she truly understood him on a personal level.
“You’re actually talking to someone that genuinely gets it,” Sheeran said. “She’s one of the only people that actually truly understands where I’m at.”
