Michelle Williams ended up “crying real tears” during a bad flight experience. The 45-year-old singer - who is best known as part of Destiny’s Child alongside Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland - took to social media on Sunday, April 6, to reveal her horror on board an airplane when one of her fellow passengers put their bare foot up beside her.
She wrote on Instagram: “I PROMISE YOU BETTA GETCHO FOOT FROM ME!!!! “Y’all this is happening neowwwwwwww on my flight and I am crying real tears!!” The ‘Bootylicious’ hitmaker confirmed that she was in first class on the flight as she replied to fans in the comments section of her post.
She said: “For those asking…….. YES, I am sitting in the first class cabin……a lot of AUDACITY resides in that booking class……. OBVIOUSLY!! #seat3F the f is for feet.”
In a follow-up post, Michelle sang and spoke to her fans with a new video, reassuring them that she had “made it” off the flight unscathed. She said: “I made it out, I made it out baby. Baby. I made it home. I made it! I made it out all right. I made it.
“Never be de-feet-ed. Y’all, I was almost de-feet-ed. Almost defeated, with somebody’s feet."
Michelle - who is now starring in the Broadway musical of the classic Meryl Streep comedy ‘Death Becomes Her’ - then revealed that she had had to fly back to her hometown to attend a family funeral and joked that she “almost didn’t make it” back for the next performance because of her ordeal on the plane.
“People have said ‘Oh you shouldn’t have been flying coach.” “I was flying first class! My seat was 3-F and I didn’t know the F was gonna be for feet! I just cant! I’m so glad to, first of all, I flew home, I had to be in my hometown over the weekend for a death in my family.”
