While many expected Messi and his Inter Miami team to emerge victorious, the match was a tough one, with LAFC coming out on top, taking the game with a 1-0 lead.

More details about the game

Inter Miami and LAFC clashed on the first leg of their quarterfinal game at the Concacaf Champions Cup. The game was played this past Wednesday night and ended with LAFC's Nathan Ordaz delivering the winning goal in the 57th minute.

Messi returned from an injury last week and played the entire match against Los Angeles, showing that he's back in great form.

While he had 5 shot opportunities and aimed 2 straight at the goal, he was stopped by the LAFC's goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who joined LA last year after playing in Tottenham for over a decade.

He also won the World Cup in 2018 and was the runner-up in 2022. Lloris is one of the most recent signatures following Messi's departure from Europe and into the US, showing that the country has become a bigger option for them to play competitively.
