Kelly Clarkson might be considering pursuing new passions with her career. New reports claim that the singer and talk show host is interested in moving on beyond her smash hit show "The Kelly Clarkson Show," with producers and representatives trying to figure out a way of retaining her.
Page Six shared an exclusive report, speaking with various insiders who shed light on the situation. They claim Clarkson wants to step away from the show to spend more time with her kids, River Rose, 10, and Remy, 8.
“Kelly’s number one priority is her children, and they always will be,” said an insider. “The show is grueling. It’s a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South.”
Clarkson is originally from Texas, and the show is filmed in Midtown Manhattan, relocating her and her family to New York for large parts of the year.
"The Kelly Clarkson Show" is one of the most successful talk shows on air, racking around 1.2 million viewers per day according to 2024-25 seasonal statistics. It's also been a critical success, winning 22 Daytime Emmys, various People's Choice Awards, and more.
Clarkson's unexplained absence
Earlier in March, Clarkson was absent from the show, prompting a string of actors and personalities to take over her hosting duties. The absence was unexplained, with sources claiming that Clarkson was missing due to personal reasons.
"Due to privacy reasons, the source shares that guests of the talk show were not told of Kelly’s absence in advance. They were, however, given the option to guest host the program upon arrival," said a source to Entertainment Tonight.
Clarkson returned to the show to celebrate its 1,000th episode. “We created a community and supported each other through a lot of ups and downs — a lot of ups and downs personally as well,” said Clarkson.
“For 1,000 episodes, we have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sang together with some people, danced together, celebrated and competed together."
