Maria Shriver is making some things clear. The journalist has been discussing "The White Lotus," which stars her son Patrick Schwarzenegger in the most notorious role of his career. In a new interview, Shriver discussed her son's performance and addressed the questions that people ask her, including if Schwarzenegger is similar to Saxon, the character he plays.
Schwarzenegger is the son of Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger and has been involved with various TV shows before, but "The White Lotus" attracts a different kind of spotlight. In it, he plays an entitled rich guy and has done such a memorable job that Saxon has quickly become one of the most controversial characters of "The White Lotus," a series known for its moral ambiguity.
“Patrick is not like Saxon," said Shriver in an appearance on "The Today Show." "I just want to clear that up ‘cause people say, ‘Is Patrick like Saxon?’ I’m like, ‘Do you think I would’ve raised a Saxon?’”
Shriver revealed Schwarzenegger worked incredibly hard for this part, and has achieved one of his dreams with it.
"He’s taken acting classes. He gets rejected a lot, and this is finally the role of his life and he’s having a great time with it. And everybody wants to talk to me about it, so I’m so happy for him," said Shriver.

Shriver is currently promoting her book of poetry, titled "I Am Maria." She revealed she gets asked so much about Patrick that she's considering renaming it to "I Am Patrick's Mother."
As for the nudity and controversial actions that Schwarzenegger gets up to onscreen, Shriver shared that she kind of expected it. “He kind of warned me, but not really warned me. But that’s between me and Patrick," she said.
