One of Hollywood's most desirable and talented A-listers is single. Multiple outlets reported on Monday that Sydney Sweeney and her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, have broken up after seven years together. Here's what we know.
When did it happen?
Rumors of the split began over the weekend when she was seen at her Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell's sister's wedding in Texas. TMZ reported last week that Sweeney had been staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel since the middle of February and that Davino was there with her. The outlet then reported on Monday night that the couple had been separated since January. One of the last times they were spotted together was January 20, 2025.
The postponed wedding
The couple was going to get married in May, with TMZ reporting in early February that they had postponed the wedding. An insider told Us Weekly last week that the Madame Web star decided to call off her wedding because she "couldn't handle the stress" of planning amid "major issues" between them.
"A lot of their issues stem from Sydney being extremely busy with work commitments. She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together," the source told the outlet.
Sweeney was, at one point, excited about the wedding. In 2024, she was in full planning mode. She opened up about her big day in April, saying she had a wedding Pinterest board going since she was 10. It was also believed that she may have found her wedding dress.
Headlines with Glen Powell
If you remember, the castmates made headlines during and after filming, with speculation that their connection was more than scripted and that they liked each other. They played along and even used the joke to promote the movie, eventually getting through the rumors, with people believing that she was happy in her relationship with the White Lotus alum. Which she may have been. People are allowed to change their minds.
Once headlines hit the internet about Sydney at the Powell family wedding, a source told Page Six that the Euphoria star is "very good friends with the Powell family” and has been “very close” with Powell’s sister “for a long time.”
