Lana Del Rey is setting the record straight after rumors spread that Kim Kardashian was suing her for $1 million. The online buzz began circulating recently, claiming that the famous reality star was taking legal action because the fan-favorite singer did not label her Instagram posts from her Valentine’s Day SKIMS campaign as paid promotions, which led to scrutiny from the National Advertising Division.
Lana made headlines after the collaboration was released, posing in multiple looks in the head-turning photoshoot. Fans of the pair shared mixed reactions after the alleged lawsuit was mentioned online, but now the singer is clarifying the situation, and revealing that there is no legal battle on the horizon.
Lana, who is preparing for the release of her new single 'Henry, Come On,' as part of a new project, took to social media to quickly shut down the rumors after seeing a post on Instagram mentioning the lawsuit, and stating that her friendship with Kim remains in good terms.
“No no, this isn’t happening,” she wrote in response. “Not as far as either one of us know. I don’t know where this started, but if it does for some reason have to happen because of guidelines—then we will handle it. But never an end to a friendship," Lana stated.
TMZ also confirmed the falsehood of the lawsuit, reporting that the claims were “categorically false,” according to a source close to the situation. Kim is known to be a longtime fan of Lana and has shown admiration for the singer before.
The pair have a longtime friendship, as Kanye West proposed to Kardashian, and an orchestra played Del Rey’s 'Young and Beautiful' at their engagement, and Lana herself performed at their rehearsal dinner ahead of their wedding at the Palace of Versailles.
The Kardashians have been fans of the singer for a while, as Kylie Jenner has previously shown her love and appreciation for Lana, sharing her songs on social media.
