Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lopez were there to celebrate a life that impacted many. Both stars have publicly expressed their love for Guerrero, with Kylie even stepping up to cover his funeral expenses, which speaks volumes about their friendship. Guerrero's sister, Gris Guerrero, expressed her gratitude on their GoFundMe page, which was set up to assist with costs during this challenging time.
Gris mentioned that her family chose not to contact Jesus' clients for assistance to avoid being a burden. However, just days later, on Tuesday, February 25, the family updated their page with a heartfelt message expressing gratitude to Kylie Jenner for helping to ease their pain.
"When this GoFundMe was set up, we created it thinking we would have to take care of all the expenses ourselves," the update read. "Our family deeply appreciates Kylie for later offering to cover funeral expenses and offering up all her help and support."
With Jenner covering the funeral, the $96,000 already raised helped with the logistics of bringing Guerrero's belongings to Houston and other unexpected costs. The family explained that, since his passing was so sudden, there were legal and financial matters they weren't prepared for.
"Our mother will be taking time off to ensure that everything gets taken care of and so that she can grieve properly because a mother should never have to bury her child," the family wrote in their update.
A source close to Jenner told PEOPLE that Guerrero's passing "hit her hard."
"She is shocked and very upset," the source said. "Still, she's doing everything she can to be supportive and aid his family, including financially."
"As upset as she feels, she knows it's so much worse for his family. She doesn't want them to stress about money," the insider added.
"Jesus was more than my friend—he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support," Jenner wrote in her lengthy tribute.
Kylie said that losing Jesus felt like losing a part of herself. "Thank you, Jesus, for always being there for me, lifting me up, and being my friend. The pain of losing you is just unbearable, and i don't know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love. and I loved you so much."
"You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched. a true artist. You inspired so many, and you always will. Your words, your laughter, your kindness, your beautiful spirit will live in my heart forever. I'll cherish all our moments together. every laugh and hug. I wish I could hug you again.
