Selena Gomez is gearing up for her big day, and she just dropped a major wedding bombshell: Martin Short is officially on speech duty. The "Only Murders in the Building" star confirmed that her legendary co-star might be taking the mic at her nuptials to fiancé Benny Blanco. "Marty is due to give a speech," Gomez spilled on The Drew Barrymore Show. "I told him he must … I feel like Marty would have an epic speech."

And honestly, she's not wrong. If anyone can deliver a heartfelt, hilarious, and slightly chaotic toast, it's Martin Short.

Will Steve Martin Bring the Banjo?

Of course, where there's Martin Short, there's usually Steve Martin. When Drew playfully suggested that both of Selena Gomez's co-stars should officiate the wedding, the singer-actress had a moment of realization.

"Oh my gosh! I hadn't even thought about that," she said, clearly amused by the idea.

She also joked that Steve Martin would "probably pull out his banjo" and turn the whole thing into a surprise concert. Which, honestly, wouldn't be the worst thing to happen at a wedding.

Inside Selena and Benny's Love Story

Selena, 32, and Benny, 37, first confirmed their romance in late 2023 after months of speculation. Fast forward to December 2024, and the couple made it official with an engagement announcement that sent the internet into a frenzy.

"Forever begins now," Selena wrote on Instagram, sharing dreamy photos from their special moment—including a close-up of her massive marquise-cut diamond ring. It turns out that Benny had been planning this for a while, with sources revealing that he had started designing the ring in early 2024.

Benny jumped into the comments section with his usual humor, writing, "Hey wait… that's my wife."

Taylor Swift Wants In on the Wedding

Naturally, the engagement sparked a flood of love and well-wishes from fans and celeb friends alike. But one comment that stole the show was Taylor Swift's chiming in, "Yes, I will be the flower girl."

Swift and Gomez have been besties for over a decade, and their friendship remains one of Hollywood's strongest. Selena has often called Taylor her "big sister," while Taylor has referred to her as "the closest thing I've ever had to a sister."

Considering their history, it wouldn't be shocking if Taylor had a major role in the wedding—though flower girl might be a bit of a stretch.

Who's Making Selena's Bridesmaid List?

Speaking of the bridal party, fans are already speculating who will stand beside Selena on her big day. Some top contenders? Francia Raisa, Raquelle Stevens, and Nicola Peltz Beckham, all of whom have been key figures in Selena's life in recent years.

While Selena hasn't confirmed her bridal squad yet, this wedding is shaping up to be the year's event. With Martin Short's speech, Steve Martin's potential banjo cameo, and Taylor Swift vying for a spot in the lineup, this ceremony might break the internet.
