Pedro Pascal has something to say about the latest romantic rumors following his dinner date with Jennifer Aniston in Los Angeles. The actor, who is enjoying the fan excitement following the premiere of the new season of 'The Last of Us,' was asked about the nature of their relationship on the red carpet after many believed that it was the start of a new Hollywood couple.
The 'Gladiator' star talked to E! about the rumors. "We're friends and we went to dinner with mutual friends,” he told the publication, confirming that they are just friends. “It happens," he insisted.
The pair were photographed after their 3-hour dinner at the Sunset Tower's Hotel Tower Bar, and online users were quick to comment on the photos. However, a source also talked to Page Six after the rumors started.
“There is no romance going on between Jennifer Aniston and Pedro Pascal,” the insider said. “They respect each other as artists but it’s strictly platonic and they’re not dating."
Fans had previously commented on their friendship after seeing them during a joint interview at the Critics Choice Awards. The two actors showed their appreciation for each other and even commented on a potential guest role on Jennifer's popular show 'The Morning Show.'
“I’ll be waiting to hear from my agents. Draw it up. Send me a script. Or just pitch it to me in the room," Pedro said during the interview showing his excitement, with Jennifer replying "Oh my God," to the camera while holding onto the actor's hand.
Pedro has shown a preference for keeping his personal life private. However, he has been linked romantically to other stars but has yet to confirm any of his relationships.
Meanwhile, Jennifer talked about his experience with romantic relationships with the Wall Street Journal. “It was always a little bit difficult for me in relationships, I think, because I really was kind of alone," she said. "My parents [who divorced when she was young], watching my family’s relationship, didn’t make me kind of go, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to do that.'"
