Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have a new four-legged family member! The couple and their children, Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren, had a heartbreaking experience when they lost their beloved pooch, Penny, in January. But months later, they found the perfect pup to welcome into their home. Even better, they adopted, not shopped.
The famous couple introduced their rescue pup, Dudley, on National Puppy Day, sharing a sweet video of his journey from shelter dog to celebrity pet.
Dudley was taken in by Wags & Walks in critical condition in January after the Los Angeles wildfires, arriving with severe pneumonia. "When we first met Dudley, he was fighting for his life. Thirteen days in the hospital, endless love from his foster family, and an incredible recovery later – he’s officially home," they wrote in the caption.
Teigen and Legend both did voiceovers for the video, with the singer explaining, "We felt instantly connected to Dudley and wanted to support him in whatever way we could." "Luckily, Dudley survived and is happy and healthy in his forever home here with us," Teigen added.
In the heartwarming video, Dudley's journey from a rescue pup in critical condition to a happy and spoiled boy surrounded by love will pull at your heartstrings.
Reflecting on their late dog Penny, they wrote in the caption, "Nothing can replace the dogs we’ve loved before, but sometimes, the universe sends us the reminder that we need to open our hearts again. Call it kismet," they added, reflecting on how their new furry friend came into their lives.
As the couple continues to embrace their pet lifestyle brand, Kismet, they’re making sure Dudley has everything he needs for a long, happy life. "Adoption saves lives, and there are so many more dogs waiting for their second chance. Thank you @wagsandwalks – we are in love," they wrote, encouraging others to consider adopting.
