Jackie Chan is one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood, known for unforgettable films like the Rush Hour franchise. Now 70, the legendary stunt performer—whose real name is Fang Shilong SBS MBE PMW—has built an incredible resume as an actor, director, and producer.
With over 62 years in the industry, his face is instantly recognizable. While he’s active on Instagram, a Brazilian TikToker has been going viral with hundreds of millions of views because he looks exactly like the actor.
The TikTok account jakichanbrasileiro has 2.6 million followers, and his most viral videos show him doing silly dances that have taken over the platform. In February, he shared a video of himself dancing barefoot to Kendrick Lamar’s "Not Like Us", using audio from the rapper’s Super Bowl performance.
The video exploded in popularity, gaining over 113.2 million views, 10.8 million likes, and more than 56,000 comments. Many users were left doing double takes, with comments like, “You mean this isn’t Jackie Chan?” and “Close enough… Rush Hour 4?”
Aside from TikTok, he’s also active on Instagram, where he’s shared videos featuring people who bear striking resemblances to Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
Is it AI?
The viral attention has sparked a debate: does he truly look like Jackie Chan, or is he using AI or deepfake technology to enhance the resemblance?
The man behind the account is Laudelino Lucas, also known as Jeki Baiano, and while he does share some physical similarities with Chan, it seems he's using AI to exaggerate the likeness. The result is uncanny, fooling millions of viewers.
Of course, this isn’t the first time someone has gained millions of followers for resembling a celebrity. One of the most famous examples is Yi Long Ma, a Chinese TikToker who has gone viral for looking like Elon Musk.
His account has over 1.4 million followers, and there’s been an ongoing debate about whether he’s using deepfake technology. In an interview addressing the speculation, he played coy, saying, “I think it’s nice to maintain an air of mystery.” He didn’t confirm or deny using AI but did admit, “I’m very interested in AI. I’m interested in everything my idol is interested in,” referencing Musk.
As AI technology advances, these lookalike accounts raise questions about authenticity, entertainment, and just how easily we can be tricked by digital enhancements.
