Carolina Herrera is mourning the loss of her husband, Reinaldo Herrera.
Reinaldo died yesterday, in his home in Manhattan, at the age of 91. The news was shared by his close friends and associates, including Ali Cordero Casal and Titina Penzini.
Herrera's social media account shared a moving tribute, including a black and white photo of Carolina and Reinaldo smiling and chatting as they sat together in front of a road flanked by trees. "It is with immense sadness that we share the passing of Mr. Reinaldo Herrera Guevara."
"Reinaldo Herrera Guevara was a keen cultural observer, a man of innate elegance and charm with a vibrant wit. Above all, he was a beloved family man. He reveled in his role of husband, father, and grandfather, and was a proud supporter of the Carolina Herrera brand since its founding in 1981," continued the tribute.
"Mr. Herrera Guevara will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all of us at Carolina Herrera and Puig. We send our deepest condolences to Carolina Herrera and the Herrera family."
Who was Reinaldo Herrera?
Reinaldo Herrera is a name associated with luxury. He was the Marquis of Torre Casa, a title he inherited from his father, and played a pivotal part in cementing Carolina Herrera's legacy, especially in helping create the brand a home in New York.
While he was naturally a prominent member of Venezuelan society, Herrera had a keen interest in communications that he pursued throughout his life.
