Nina Dobrev and Shaun White may have gotten engaged back in October 2024, but when it comes to wedding planning, the pair have no rush to walk down the aisle. Since celebrating their engagement, life has been a whirlwind for the 36-year-old actress and the 38-year-old Olympic Skier.
The actress was recently in Australia filming a new project, with the holiday season starting right after. As a result, they’ve been taking their time and simply enjoying their new life chapter before their wedding.
“I was in Australia shooting a movie and then Christmas and New Year’s,” Nina told E! News during her latest interview. “We’re just enjoying being engaged at this point," she explained. "You have a boyfriend for half of your life and then you have a husband for half of your life but the fiancé period is very short.”
The 'Vampire Diaries' star said they want to "enjoy" their journey and have no "rush" to start the "process" and planning for their special day. Despite not planning the wedding just yet, Nina explained to the publication that she wants the ceremony to be environmentally conscious.
“My number one goal is to find out how to make it as low-impact as possible," she detailed. Following their romantic proposal, the pair shared photos and videos of their engagement, with Nina and Shaun taking to social media to share their excitement.
“Still floating after this night! I’m beside myself to be with this amazing woman and to be joining her beautiful family!!” the athlete wrote on Instagram. “Our quarantine romance turned into this beautiful relationship and now a forever love.”
The couple previously talked about their love story, which started during the lockdown caused by the pandemic. "Nina's just been so supportive and so amazing through this whole process for me," Shaun told People, expressing his love for the actress. "Through the pandemic, she was a lifesaver — she really made that time in my life special."
