Kim Kardashian loves her jewelry, but there's one piece of hardware that she's willing to give up for her eldest child.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashian star recently revealed her plans to pass down the 15-carat diamond engagement ring from her ex-husband to daughter North West. The ring in question is the one Kanye West proposed with back in 2013. She explained her reasoning on the March 13 episode of The Kardashians.
"Because she was with me when I got engaged," Kim, who gave birth to her daughter four months before Kanye's proposal, explained on the reality show. "She held it after and I took a photo."
Kardashian also noted that the ring was the "only piece of jewelry" she didn't have with her when she was robbed at a Paris hotel back in 2016. She also revealed the reason why she did not bring the ring on that trip was because of Ye, who she was married to from 2014 to 2022.
On the show, Kim opened up about how she once wore the rock along with her second engagement ring from Kanye—a 20-carat emerald-cut worth an estimated $4.9 million—in an Instagram video. After that instance, Kim said the rapper warned her, "'Don't you ever wear both of your rings at the same time. Are you looking to get robbed?'"
Sadly, the 44-year-old SKIMS founder's second ring was ultimately stolen during the gunpoint heist, with authorities believing that the diamond was broken down into smaller pieces and sold off on the black market. But Kim insisted upon the fact that the "original ring that I got proposed to" is what's "most important."
Still, there is another piece of jewelry that Kim's children—which includes sons Saint West, 9 and Psalm West, 5, as well as daughter Chicago West, 7—won't be getting their hands on: Her engagement ring from ex-husband Kris Humphries.
The reality star opened up about the fact that she had to surrender that ring as part of their 2013 divorce settlement.
"I didn't keep that," Kim said, explaining how she was still legally married to Kris—whom she split from in October 2011 after 72 days of marriage—when she became pregnant with North. "In order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring in the divorce."
The interesting part about having to give it up is that Kim said she was the one who bought the 18-carat emerald-cut gem, while the former NBA player allegedly "contributed a fifth" of its cost.
"I would've loved a collection," she joked about having been engaged multiple times.
