Kate Hudson has always placed a strong emphasis on family, especially when it comes to her firstborn son, Ryder Robinson. The actress welcomed her son in January 2004 with musician Chris Robinson. The pair have made a conscious effort to give Ryder a sense of normalcy and privacy amid their life in the spotlight.

Ryder is often seen attending family events with the star, as well as sharing time with his siblings, Bingham and Rani. Ryder is becoming more active in the public eye and has been seen with his mom in recent events.

The actress shared a glimpse at her family dynamic during a recent interview. Kate opened up about her parenting style, emphasizing the importance of balancing discipline with fun, setting boundaries but letting their children make their own decisions.

Kate revealed on The Martha Stewart Podcast that her son has "quite a few," but there's one that made her "draw a line as a mother." She admitted that she disapproved of a specific design he got tattooed on his calf, which she described as a "scribble."

"Ryder got a tattoo that I hate so much," she said during the conversation. "I'm like, nope. That's coming off." Kate said it was a "terrible" tattoo. It's gotta go and he's gonna get it taken off," she added.

The actress said she approves of other tattoos, including the "CBR" ink on his arm, honoring his siblings, Cheyenne Genevieve, Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa, and brother Bingham Hawn Bellamy.

Kate said that she does not mind tattoos, but has some rules that are non-negotiable. "I'm just like, just stay away from the neck, you know, neck down. Just help me out. I don't want face tattoos, please," she said during the conversation.

The star has a tattoo on her foot. "I was a wimp. It was supposed to be much bigger, and then I got one star and I'm like, I'm out. I'm done," she admitted, adding that it became a tribute to her mom, Goldie Hawn.

"We have the same size foot. We have the same-looking foot. Like, it's literally identical, which is so cute. For her 60th birthday, she got a heart on right where my star is on her foot, so when we put our feet together they look exactly the same," she explained.
