Shakira has reunited with her Mexican fans just as planned with her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, which has taken her across Latin America. She closed out her Mexican tour with a bang, kicking off the first of 11 dates on Wednesday night at the BBVA Stadium in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
Shakira took the stage punctually, greeted by thunderous applause and cheers. Dressed in a shimmering silver outfit, she was joined by her dancers—including influencer Andy Benavides, who walked alongside her to launch the tour.
The music began to flow, and Shakira soon addressed the crowd:
"Good evening, Monterrey. Finally, my first night here in this country I love so much—Mexico. A country that opened its doors to me, welcomed me, and where I have always felt at home. You are my second home. Thank you, Mexico. There is no better gathering than that of La Loba with her Mexican pack. Monterrey, tonight we are one."
The audience's excitement soared when she shared how much it meant to be in front of those who had supported her through difficult times:
"I think you know what it means for me to be here. It hasn’t been easy—life isn’t perfect. But if I’ve learned one thing, it’s that falling isn’t the end; it’s the beginning of a higher flight. After every fall, we rise wiser. Welcome to the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour!" She said.
Between the stage design, visuals, and emotional performances, the Monterrey crowd was fully immersed in the experience. However, contrary to speculation, Shakira did not perform with a mariachi band. She will take the stage again tonight for her second show in Monterrey before heading to Guadalajara for performances at the Akron Stadium on March 16 and 17. Then, she will travel to Mexico City, where she has seven shows scheduled at the GNP Stadium from March 19 to 30.
Fans embrace Shakira’s iconic looks
Ever since Shakira announced her concert dates, fans have been preparing for the big moment. At her Monterrey show, attendees not only came ready to sing and dance but also dressed in some of her most iconic looks—purple wigs inspired by Las de la Intuición, gold tops reminiscent of Suerte, and T-shirts and caps emblazoned with her name.
Shakira’s arrival in Mexico
Shakira kicked off her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour on February 11 in Brazil, making stops in Peru, Colombia, and Argentina before arriving in Mexico. She landed in Monterrey in the early hours of March 12, just in time for her first concert that night.
Fans eagerly awaited her at the airport, but due to a security operation, she quickly boarded a white van and headed to her hotel to rest before the big performance.
