Christian Nodal and Ángela Aguilar are two of the biggest names in regional Mexican music, with fans keeping track of both their music releases and their relationship as a married couple. But it hasn't been all love in the public eye— the couple faces their fair share of haters.
In a recent interview with Danielle Dithurbide for N+, Nodal was asked about the onslaught of hate he has faced, not just directed at him but also at his family and "the person he loves." The "Adiós Amor" singer says that this is a common trend in the digital world. "That's what all social media is about these days," he expressed.
Nodal also shared that "freedom of expression is confused with other things" in today's climate. However, he made it clear that these comments don't bother him: "At the end of the day, the best thing is to go to bed peacefully, with a clear conscience. I think that's what's worth it," he asserted.
"I try to love everyone around me, and they love me very beautifully too, so as long as the core is solid, it doesn't matter what's going on behind the layers, what people might imagine," the singer added. He emphasized that the most important thing for him is the sincere love he has in his life, regardless of what others think.
With a big smile, the performer assured that he feels "solid," both personally and professionally, and expressed excitement about his upcoming performance. "The Plaza de Toros will be my second show this year, so I'm brand new," said Nodal, confirming that the busy touring life does take its toll. "Yes, the traveling, all of that counts a lot. I don't think Christian is the same at the beginning of the year as he is at the end of it," he confessed. When asked if he felt happy, Nodal replied without hesitation: "Yes."
What Ángela Aguilar thinks about the criticism
Like her husband, Aguilar has addressed the criticism and attacks they often face on social media. "I've experienced a lot in these last three years, from false rumors to the impact of deepfakes, which was very strong for me," the singer confessed in November of last year during an interview with Glamour magazine. "I won't say that the comments don't affect me because that would be inhumane. But what I do know is that they don't define me," she continued. "I've learned that people will talk about things they don't know, and it's not my responsibility to explain anything to them. If I want to, I will, but I don't need to justify myself," the 21-year-old singer explained.
What Cazzu has said
Christian and Ángela's relationship was confirmed in June 2024, just a few weeks after Nodal's separation from Cazzu, the mother of his daughter, became public. As expected, this news generated all kinds of reactions, but that didn't stop the young couple from sealing their love with a wedding on July 25, 2024, in a low-key ceremony in Mexico.
"At this moment, my integrity as a person was questioned," the Argentine rapper told PLP. "It was recently said that I had known about the relationship of these two people for a long time, that they had been in a relationship for many months before it was exposed – and that I was fully aware [of it]."
