Kelly Clarkson has been notably absent from "The Kelly Clarkson Show" since March 3, 2025, sparking concern among fans. During her absence, various guest hosts, including Simu Liu, Roy Wood Jr., Wanda Sykes, Josh Groban, Brooke Shields, Willie Geist, and Molly Sims, have stepped in.
On March 10, the show's official Instagram account announced that guest hosts would continue for the week, featuring personalities like Brooke Shields, Willie Geist, and Molly Sims. This led fans to express their concern on social media, asking about the host's wellbeing.
Kelly is expected to be back next Tuesday, and a source detailed Entertainment Tonight that the musician had a sudden family emergency. "Due to privacy reasons, the source shares that guests of the talk show were not told of Kelly’s absence in advance. They were, however, given the option to guest host the program upon arrival," the publication reported.
She is also expected to film the show on March 20, which marks the 1,000th episode of her popular show, with many wondering if she will talk about her absence.
Kelly has been open about her personal life in recent years. This is not the first time the artist has taken an extended break from her work commitments.
In 2022, she spent the summer in Montana with her kids, explaining to Today that she wanted to focus on her family at the time. "It was really important to me to shut down for a minute," she said to the publication. "[We] just spent the whole summer in the mountains. It was nice."
She continued, "It felt like the first time my kids felt a little more centered as well." While Kelly has yet to comment on her latest absence, she is scheduled for a Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for 18 shows, starting July 4.
