Beyond the fame and glamour of being one of Argentina's most recognized couples, Lionel Messi and Antonela Roccuzzo are devoted and loving parents. The soccer player and his wife have built a beautiful family; their three children are their greatest treasure. Unsurprisingly, they go to great lengths to make their children happy. This was evident recently, as their youngest child, Ciro, turned 7, and they surprised him with an amazing birthday party.
On March 10, Antonela shared a glimpse of the unforgettable celebration she and Lionel organized for Ciro on her Instagram account. "Today, the baby of the family turned another year older," the beautiful Argentine wrote. "We love you so much, Ciro. May you be this happy for the rest of your life," she added in her heartfelt message.
Along with this sweet dedication, Antonela posted three pictures from the celebration, which was inspired by one of the most iconic children's movies: "The Lion King." The first image shows the birthday boy smiling with his two parents. The background features incredible party decorations resembling the African savannah, complete with two realistic lion cub figures.
In the photo, Messi and Antonela are dressed in outfits that match the party's theme. Antonela wore a beige jumpsuit with a strapless cut and cargo pants paired with white sneakers. Messi opted for an olive green outfit, including a T-shirt, shirt, pants, and casual shoes. The birthday boy, Ciro, sported a yellow T-shirt with a printed feline design, black shorts, and sports shoes.
The next photo provided a closer look at Ciro's fantastic birthday cake, which was multi-tiered and adorned with animal figures. The best part of the image was the family photo, where Ciro is surrounded by his parents and his two older brothers, Thiago and Mateo, who are 12 and 9 years old, respectively.
The last photo in Antonela's post shows Ciro curiously examining one of the lion figures from the decorations. It appears that he recently suffered an injury, as he is seen with a cast on his arm. Ciro has had his arm immobilized for at least two weeks; he was spotted wearing a sling on February 26 during his mother's birthday celebrations. While it's unclear how the injury occurred, it wouldn't be surprising if he had fallen while playing or during soccer training.
The Messi family, a home full of love
In December of last year, Antonela shared a video marking her debut as an Adidas ambassador, where she answered some personal questions. When asked about the three most important things in her life, she responded without hesitation, "My family." She added, "Being a mom means everything to me. My children are my world, and I cherish every moment we spend together," referring to her little ones, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro.
Antonela isn't the only one who has expressed her love for family; her husband has also done so. In September 2019, Messi told the Spanish newspaper Sport, "She is everything to me. Having her by my side makes many things easier. She is someone I've known for a long time, and she knows me perfectly. She knows how to support me, especially during tough times. She is a person who practically never has a bad day and is always in a good mood. She is an amazing partner."
