Second Lady Usha Vance is now on X and Instagram! Vice President JD Vance's wife launched her @SLOTUS account on the social media platforms on Monday. For her first post, the second lady shared photos from her trip to Italy for the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games, writing: "I am honored to have attended the Special Olympics World Winter Games with the Presidential delegation."
"Thank you, @SpecialOlympics, for such a warm welcome and for fostering a community full of inspirational athletes and strong leaders. Go Team USA!" she continued.
One of the pictures included in the Instagram carousel shows the second lady with her eldest child, Ewan Vance, at the opening ceremony, which was held at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. The seven year old was dressed in a white button-down shirt and navy blazer for the occasion. Usha and JD's younger son Vivek Vance and their daughter Mirabel Vance did not appear in any photos.
Usha was pictured at other Special Olympic events and sharing a laugh with Maria Shriver's brother and RFK Jr.'s cousin Timothy Shriver, who is chairman of the Special Olympics International Board of Directors. The second lady led the United States presidential delegation to the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin.
Usha's first post on her X and Instagram accounts coincided with the return of the presidential delegation to the U.S. on Monday, March 10. The second lady is currenly following just four accounts on the two social media platforms: the White House account, @POTUS, @FLOTUS and @VP.
Usha Vance made history at the 60th Presidential Inauguration, becoming the first Indian American Second Lady. Elon Musk's mom Maye Musk has described the second lady as "smart and charming," writing on X that she "is even lovelier in person."
Months before the 2024 presidential election, Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt spoke with Usha about the role and whether she had received advice from anyone. “I've gotten advice from various friends who've found themselves unexpectedly in the spotlight, or, you know, honestly, just faced crises or other situations that really changed their plans for their lives," Usha shared.
She added, "We have wonderful friends. Many of whom I have known since I was very, very little and they have just been here for us, and we know what matters to us in our personal lives and our family lives. And so focusing on that, I think, helps weather all of these ups."
