Andre Agassi celebrated International Women's Day by sharing a tribute to the most important woman in his life. The tennis icon shared an Instagram post where he celebrated his wife, the tennis icon Steffi Graf, sharing some of the special moments the two have shared over their life together.
The post shows various images of the couple, including some shots of the two with their children: Jaden and Jaz.
More photos show the pair hugging, and some cover photos of Graff, where she's seen wearing a stunning suit and also on the tennis court. One of the images Agassi shared shows the pair in 1992 after they both won their Wimbledon titles.
"Happy International Women’s Day to the strongest woman I know…," he captioned the post, tagging Graff.
More details about Agassi and Graff's relationship
Agassi and Graf were formally introduced after they both won Wimbledon in the same year. While Graff had a boyfriend, Agassi revealed in his memoir that he had a crush on her, and orchestrated a plan with their coaches to have them train together years later.
"Our coaches kind of set up the whole practice and, you know, I was like, 'Why does he want to practice with me?” said Graff in an interview, recalling their training session in 1999.
“He's married. I've got a boyfriend,” she said. “It was all a little confusing to me.”
While Agassi was married to Brooke Shields, the two were going through a divorce, which Graff learned later. The pair married in 2001 and have been together ever since.
In 2004, as Graff was introduced to the Hall of Fame, Agassi gave a touching speech in her honor, leaving her visibly moved and emotional.
"As I attempt to find words worthy to introduce the person that has changed my life, I realize the words have yet to be invented that are large enough, colorful enough, or true enough to express the heart and soul of this woman that I love," he said.
