Long before her successful reality TV show, Kim Kardashian took a spontaneous leap into marriage at 19. In 2000, she eloped with music producer Damon Thomas, who was nearly a decade her senior. Their whirlwind Vegas wedding was unconventional. Years later, Kim candidly revealed on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" that she was under the influence during the ceremony, saying, "I did ecstasy once, and I got married."

The union between Kim and Damon was short-lived and fraught with difficulties. By 2003, Damon had filed for divorce. Kim later attributed their split to alleged physical and emotional abuse, reflecting on her younger self's choices and dependence on relationships. In a 2011 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she remarked, "If I looked at myself at 19, I would shake myself and be like, 'Wake up; you are way too smart for this.'"

A Sister's Support

During this tumultuous period, Kim found an unexpected hero in her younger sister, Khloé Kardashian. On the March 6 episode of "The Kardashians," Kim shared how Khloé offered her savings of around $6,000 to help Kim secure an apartment post-divorce. Khloé recalled, "She was crying in my room... I was like, 'Let's take what's in here, go to the bank and cash it—and let's use this money for your divorce.'" This sisterly love gave Kim the fresh start she desperately needed.

Damon Thomas: Behind the Music

While Kim's rise to fame is well-documented, Damon Thomas had already made a name for himself in the music industry. As a producer, he collaborated with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds in the late '90s, contributing to hits like Dru Hill's "These Are the Times," Faith Evans' "Never Gonna Let You Go," and Pink's "Most Girls." His work behind the scenes played a role in shaping the R&B sound of that era.

Where is Damon Thomas

Thomas doesn't have a massive fanbase like Kim, and his social media presence is average. Still, he uses his platforms to promote his work. For his 54th birthday, Snoop Dogg congratulated him on Instagram.
