Rumer Willis is tributing her mother Demi Moore. In a recent photoshoot, Willis wore one of her mother's most iconic costumes; the gold bikini she wore in the 1996 film "Striptease."
Willis is currently auctioning off various items from her closet, with part of the proceeds benefitting a rescue place for dogs in Idaho, according to the videos shared on her Instagram.
One of the items she's putting up for auction is the gold bikini from "Striptease," which will be sold on April 5th at Studio Auctions, with the bidding starting at $5,000.
Willis is seen posing by the pool, holding on to some dark sunglasses as she looks straight at the camera. She rounded out the look with some black pumps, reminiscent of her mother's performance in the film "Striptease," where Moore plays a former FBI secretary who takes up a job in a strip club to make ends meet.
The film made Moore the highest-paid film actress at the time, with the studio paying her $12.5 million.
Interestingly enough, "Striptease" marked one of Rumer's first roles, with her playing Moore's daughter in the film. A large part of the plot revolves around their connection, with Moore getting the stripper job as a way to acquire custody of her daughter.
Moore has opened up about the making of "Striptease"
"Striptease" came out at the height of Moore's fame. That same year, another controversial film of hers was released, called "GI Jane," where she famously got a buzzcut for the part and was criticized for taking a role that was so against her type.
"If anything in this industry has ever been stacked against me, it was having those two films come out at the same time and becoming the highest-paid actress on top of that," said Moore in an interview with Variety.
"That moment was so powerful for me because it wasn’t just about me; it was about changing the playing field for all women. But because I was portraying a stripper, I betrayed women. And because I played a soldier, I betrayed men."
