The Oscars wrapped up another successful season. Many actors took home the coveted award and others simply enjoyed the night dancing in one of the many parties hosted that night. If you paid close attention, you might have noticed that Khloé Kardashian and her momager extraordinaire, Kris Jenner, were MIA from the after-parties. Instead, they celebrated love and family at a beautiful oceanfront wedding in sunny San Diego.

Khloé and Kris attended the wedding of Khloé's cousin, Natalie Zettel, who happens to be the daughter of Kris's late sister, Karen. The intimate ceremony was held at a picturesque oceanfront venue, making it a perfect day to honor family ties and cherished memories.

A Heartfelt Tribute to Karen

Karen, Kris's sister and Natalie's mother, passed away in 2024. This wedding was a union of two souls and a heartfelt tribute to Karen's memory. By being there, Khloé and Kris showed that, sometimes, family moments take precedence over Hollywood's biggest nights.

“It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly,” wrote Jenner at the time. “My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time.”

Jenner shared some of her sister’s best qualities, and reflected on life. “Karen was beautiful inside and out. She was the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny. She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter. She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together."

“Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised. We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister.”

The Oscars After-Parties: A Split Decision

While Khloé and Kris were soaking up the San Diego sun, other members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan—Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Kim Kardashian—were spotted at the Oscars and the Vanity Fair after-party.

The family decided to divide and conquer, ensuring they were present for both the industry's prestigious events and personal family milestones.

According to Jenner's makeup artist, Guerrero was excited for Kylie's first Oscars. "Today was really hard without you, but I know how excited you were for Ky to attend the Oscars," Ariel Tejada wrote on Instagram. "I felt your energy guiding us today. I hope we did you proud 🤍," Tejada added. "We love you forever 🕊️."

A source close to Jenner told PEOPLE that Guerrero's passing "hit her hard."

"She is shocked and very upset," the insider said. "Still, she's doing everything she can to be supportive and aid his family, including financially."

"As upset as she feels, she knows it's so much worse for his family. She doesn't want them to stress about money," the source added. Kylie admitted that losing him felt like losing a part of herself.
