Ivanka Trump is supporting her father in key moments throughout his presidency. Yesterday, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner traveled to Washington DC to attend Donald Trump's address before the joint session of Congress.
In an Instagram post, Ivanka shared some highlights of her trip, which, while brief, seemed packed with activities. She shared plenty of photos with her family members, including her siblings Donald Jr, Eric, and Tiffany, with their spouses and significant others.
She also shared various photos of significant monuments, including the Washington Monument, and The Gettysburg Address.
Ivanka also shared moments with her father, including an image of the two in what seems to be a kitchen smiling brightly, with a magazine in front of them. The two seemed to be enjoying a drinking and cheering with it towards the camera.
"48 hours in DC !" she captioned the post.
While Ivanka made it clear that she would be taking a step back from her father's presidency, in previous interviews, she revealed she looked forward to supporting him as a daughter. In an interview with "The Skinny Confidential Podcast," she called the presidency "the world's loneliest position."
“The enormity of the decisions you’re making on a daily basis, how transactional everyone is with you… it’s a very lonely perch," she said.
“I’m most looking forward to just being able to show up for him as a daughter,” she said.
“To take his mind off things and watch a movie with him or watch a sports game, to know that he can be with me and be himself and just relax.”
More details about Ivanka's look
Ivanka dressed the part for the prestigious occasion, wearing a navy blue outfit with some floral embroidery.
While the details are hard to distinguish, the look is Oscar de la Renta and is made up of a blazer and a matching skirt. The blazer featured orchid appliques on the shoulder and waist, an elegant detail that gave a sober look a touch of spring and fun.
She rounded out the look with pearl earrings, some jewelry, and her hair styled wavy and loose.
