Angelina Jolie is supporting her daughter in any way she can. The actress and filmmaker joined Zahara in a mother-daughter brunch hosted by the Women in Training Inc. The event was hosted in Alabama, where Zahara was one of the key speakers. Angelina took photos with various people and supported Zahara all through the event.
Zahara, a student of Spellman College, was speaking on behalf of period poverty, a term that refers to women and girls who have no access to menstrual products and education.
“We are truly honored that Zahara Jolie-Pitt will speak at the Fourth Annual WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch about her passion to end period poverty, which is the mission of Women in Training,” said WIT's President and CEO Asdeyela Bennett to the new station WAKA 8.
“We are also excited that her mother, the internationally renowned movie star Angelina Jolie, will join us to support her daughter and to support our goal of ensuring that every girl and young woman has the products she needs to live her life to the fullest extent.”
Zahara and Angelina wore white to the occasion, with Jolie wearing a button-up and some slacks and was captured smiling at her daughter with pride while also posing with other attendees. Zahara wore a white dress that she paired with matching heels.
Angelina is in 'awe' of her daughter
Angelina adopted Zahara on a trip to Ethiopia in 2005 when she was 7 months old. On previous occasions, she has opened up about her daughter and how much she respects her.
"My daughter is from Ethiopia, one of my children … And I have learned so much from her," said Angelina in a TIME 100 Talk in 2020.
"She is my family, but she is an extraordinary African woman and her connection to her country, her continent, is her own and it’s something I only stand back in awe of."
