Kourtney Kardashian has always made it clear that her family comes first. After welcoming her first child with Travis Barker in 2023, the mother of 4 found herself having to shut down some wild rumors surrounding her oldest son Mason. Over the weekend, she took to social media to defend her 15-year-old son from claims that he is a dad.
On March 2, Kourtney addressed rumors that Mason had a child named Piper. The theory, mostly spread by viral TikTok videos, was that Mason has a secret Instagram account where he shares updates about his fatherhood.
"Rarely do I speak on rumors or conspiracies about me or my family, but this is about my son, and I think it’s wrong to let anyone believe, even for a second, that these lies are remotely true. They are not," Kourtney said in her Instagram Stories. "Mason does not have a child," she added, shutting down the rumors for good.
Kourtney, who recently led a protest, clarified, “These accounts pretending to be him are definitely not him... They are FAKE." The 45-year-old reality star also made a passionate plea for Mason’s privacy. "My son truly values his privacy, and I ask all media to be respectful: he is a kid with feelings and a beautiful life ahead of him. Please stop spreading false stories and lies," she wrote.
She also called for an end to videos about her kids, stressing that they are minors. "To everyone else making videos about my children (who, by the way, are underage), please stop and leave them in peace," Kourtney said. In addition to Mason, she shares Penelope, 12, and Reign, 10, with ex Disick, and Rocky, with Barker.
Mason’s Instagram debut
Although Mason appeared frequently on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, he’s kept a low profile since the show’s end. However, earlier this year, Mason joined Instagram.
On May 25, 2024, he shared his first post—a photo of him in a cap covering his face. His family quickly showed their support in the comments, with Kourtney saying, "My first baby," Khloé commenting, "I can’t believe this is happening," and Kim adding, "You’re really on Instagram."
Mason now has over 870,000 followers with just five posts. One of them shows a selfie with his brother Reign, with the caption, "Photos are all we know."
