Tate McRae is preparing for her second appearance on 'Saturday Night Live.' The fan-favorite singer, who is enjoying the success of her latest album 'So Close To What,' is back on the show as a musical guest, after first making her debut on November 2023. This time the 21-year-old musician will be taking the stage with Shane Gillis as host for the night.
Tate is promoting her upcoming appearance on March 1st, alongside none other than Marcello Hernandez, best known for his viral character of Domingo. The pair had a lot of fun ahead of the show, taking to social media to share a video dancing to one of the hit songs by Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny.
The comedian and the singer can be seen dancing to 'Voy A LLeVARTE PA PR,' with Tate wearing a brown bodycon and Marcello wearing jeans, a blue jacket, sunglasses, and a blue hat. Online users were quick to comment on the singer's dance moves and urged her to make a collab with a Latin artist.
"I can see Tate collaborating with Karol G," one person wrote, while someone else commented, "She needs to collab with a Latin artist!" adding, "Tate has no idea what he is singing."
Others also commented on Tate's alter ego and agreed that 'Tatiana' would be perfect for a Latin feature. The singer previously talked about her alter ego during an interview with People.
“I’m a pretty reserved Canadian who’s pretty shy in big groups. But I get onstage, and sometimes I’ll black out and be like, ‘What the f--k is up, Boston?’ And my mom’s like, ‘Whoa, where did this come from?'” McRae said. “Just a totally different side of me. She’s feistier and doesn’t really give a sh--."
“I had to snap into a mentality of not being so vulnerable and so honest and just being like, ‘Okay, there’s a whole other side of my personality that the entire world has no idea about.’ That’s Tatiana, for sure," she explained to Genius.
