Kim Kardashian is on a journey of healing, and it's all thanks to the sweet, genuine connection she's building with her 11-year-old daughter, North West. After her divorce from Kanye West, Kim finds solace and strength in those tender, everyday moments with North, a relatable and refreshingly real journey.
In the latest episode of Hulu's "The Kardashians" on Thursday (Feb. 27), Kim shares a heartwarming update with her sister, Kourtney Kardashian. As she recounts the positive changes in her life, she says, "The craziest thing happened. Tell me if this happened with Mason," Kim says, referring to Kourtney's 15-year-old son. "North is like obsessed with me now. And calls me with her friends like, 'Mom, I love you, you're the best mom. I love you so much.'"
During their conversation, Kourtney probes a bit deeper. "Do you think you've changed?" she asks, prompting a reflective response from Kim. "I mean possibly. It was a year of being mad at me."
It's clear that the past year has been a rollercoaster, not just because of Kanye West's divorce in February 2021 but also because of the intense public scrutiny and personal challenges that followed. Even as Kanye's controversies made headlines—from his divisive rants to his public spats—Kim has been quietly working on herself.
She acknowledges that the divorce was a turning point. "Well, also, you guys were getting a divorce," Kourtney notes, and Kim agrees. "I think it was all the divorce. It's insane the turnaround," she says.
Kim's focus remains on her children. Whether it's North, Saint, Chicago, or Psalm, she believes that feeling loved and understood is the cornerstone of healing. As she once shared in a GQ cover feature, "Ultimately, what matters is that kids feel loved and heard."
Kim sets an example for her daughter. She openly admits, "Just because I know how to manage my stress well doesn't mean that I don't feel the emotions. If I'm sad, of course, I will cry and feel it."
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reunited
Kim and Kanye might not be a couple anymore, but they're clearly on the same page when it comes to showing up for their kids. When North West had a performance at the Hollywood Bowl as part of Lion King's concert event, the proud parents were there backstage, giving their girl all the support.
The moment played out on the February 20 episode of "The Kardashians," where Kim said she was nervous while watching North, 11, sing "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" for a packed crowd. Kanye was right there too, casually offering his input.
"Her dad has been involved and he came to rehearsal," Kim shared in a confessional, that when Kanye suggested changing the graphics for the show, she agreed. "It will be a better production [if you take his notes]," she said.
After North's performance, Kanye told her she did "so good." Her siblings were also backstage, rounding out a rare glimpse of Kim and Kanye working together.
