George Clooney and his family have found a peaceful escape in the French countryside. The actor, his wife Amal, and their seven-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, live in a charming country house in France.
Their most recent purchase is a stunning 18th-century chateau in Brignoles near Provence, which was bought for $8.3 million in 2021. This dreamy property comes complete with a vineyard, a pool, tennis courts, and a guest house.
Clooney, who grew up in Kentucky, has embraced the quieter, rural life he once tried to avoid. "Growing up in Kentucky, all I wanted to do was get away from a farm, get away from that life, he said in a recent interview with The New York Times. “Now I find myself back in that life. I drive a tractor and all those things."
“It’s the best chance at a normal life," the actor said about his family life. The country house offers the Clooney family a place to unwind, enjoy each other’s company, and step away from the Hollywood spotlight.
In addition to his country home in France, Clooney also owns a charming estate in England, a luxurious villa on the shores of Lake Como in Italy, and another property near his family in Kentucky.
In recent years, several Hollywood stars have traded the bright lights for quieter, more peaceful lives away from the spotlight. Including Millie Bobby Brown, who lives with her husband Jake Bongiovi on a Georgia farm, and most recently Eva Longoria, who opened up about her life in Spain.
“I just love being in Spain; I adore the country. I first fell for Marbella 20 years ago. It was love at first sight. I started thinking about buying a place here five years ago and have been on the hunt ever since,” the ‘Desperate Housewives’ star told to ¡HOLA! Spain in an exclusive interview.
“It’s my oasis, my paradise,” said the actress, who lives happily in Europe with her husband and son. She added, “When I’m in L.A., I’m always working and super busy.”
