Jesus Guerrero's family is expressing deep gratitude to Kylie Jenner for stepping up significantly after the beloved hairstylist's unexpected passing. Guerrero's family first shared the heartbreaking news on Sunday, February 23, announcing on Instagram that the 34-year-old celebrity hairstylist had passed away "suddenly and unexpectedly" on February 22, 2025. Known for styling some of the biggest names in Hollywood—Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, and Jessica Alba, to name a few—his loss has rocked both his family and the A-list world.

His younger sister, Gris Guerrero, set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses and transport his belongings back to Houston. Gris also clarified that her family didn't reach out to Jesus' clients for help to avoid a burden. But just days later, on Tuesday, February 25, the family updated the page with a heartfelt message thanking Kylie Jenner for easing their pain.

"When this GoFundMe was set up, we created it thinking we would have to take care of all the expenses ourselves," the update read. "Our family deeply appreciates Kylie for later offering to cover funeral expenses and offering up all her help and support."

The Financial Support Will Go Beyond Funeral Costs

With Jenner covering the funeral, the $96,000 already raised will now help with the logistics of bringing Guerrero's belongings home and other unexpected costs. The family explained that, since his passing was so sudden, there were legal and financial matters they weren't prepared for.

"Our mother will be taking time off to ensure that everything gets taken care of and so that she can grieve properly because a mother should never have to bury her child," the family wrote in their update, thanking everyone who has shown support.

Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lopez Mourn the Loss

A source close to Jenner told PEOPLE that Guerrero's passing "hit her hard."

"She is shocked and very upset," the insider said. "Still, she's doing everything she can to be supportive and aid his family, including financially."

"As upset as she feels, she knows it's so much worse for his family. She doesn't want them to stress about money," the source added.

Both Jenner and Lopez took to Instagram on Tuesday, February 25, to share emotional tributes. "Jesus was more than my friend—he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support," Jenner wrote in her lengthy tribute.

Kylie admitted that losing him felt like losing a part of herself. "Thank you, Jesus, for always being there for me, for lifting me up, for being my friend. The pain of losing you is just unbearable, and i don't know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love. and I loved you so much. You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched. a true artist. You inspired so many, and you always will. Your words, your laughter, your kindness, your beautiful spirit will live in my heart forever. I'll cherish all our moments together. every laugh and hug. I wish I could hug you again. I laid in your bed the way you used to lay in mine, talking for hours. I would give anything for one more deep talk. I'm going to miss you so much. more than any words can say. 222 my angel," Kylie Jenner wrote.

Lopez, who had last worked with Guerrero just days before his passing, shared, "I've been having trouble putting the words together the last few days. The truth is I'm still in shock that such a beautiful young life has come to an end. It seems senseless and unfair."

Guerrero's impact on the industry was undeniable. Ash Holm, known as Khloé Kardashian's go-to makeup artist, also shared her memories of Jesus, whom she considered a best friend. "I lost a best friend. A legend. @jesushair Most will remember Jesus as a brilliant celebrity hairstylist—one of the greatest to ever do it. But to me, he was so much more. He was a friend who believed in me before the world did, who supported me long before either of us made it to LA. We met in Houston around 2012, both worked at the Galleria Mall —he at Visible Changes Hair Salon, me at the MAC store. He'd stop by my store for makeup, and I'd visit him at the salon. We were young, hungry, and proud of where we worked, constantly hyping each other up, knowing we were meant for more," Ash wrote.

Adding, "On our lunch breaks, we'd meet in the food court, talking about our dreams, about the lives we wanted to build. We saw our worth—and most importantly, we saw it in each other. Most nights, we stayed up late doing hair and makeup on friends, posting our work, hoping someone would notice. And eventually, they did. Jesus moved to LA a few months before me, but before that, he & his BF Angel, introduced me to Lilly Ghalichi—our first celebrity client. When I finally moved and got to do Khloé Kardashian's makeup, I immediately pitched Jesus to do her hair. That's the kind of friendship we had—always lifting each other up, always making sure the other had a seat at the table."

Kylie Jenner's makeup artist, Ariel Tejada, called him a member of his "chosen family."

"2•22, one of Gods most Beautiful Angels has just opened his wings and flew to join him in heaven, and watch over me," Ariel wrote on Instagram. "Last night I experienced the most painful, breath taking pain I have ever felt when I found out you left us @jesushair. Family is not always just assigned at birth sometimes they are chosen and you were my chosen family," Ariel wrote.

Although the news of Jesus Guerrero's passing has created a significant void in the entertainment and beauty communities, his legacy endures through the countless lives he has impacted.

His family, friends, and clients are mourning a talent gone far too soon, but thanks to Jenner's generosity, his loved ones can focus on honoring his memory without financial worries.
