Remembering a Creative Genius

Jesus was not only known for his impeccable skill behind the chair but also for his creative spirit. He started his journey in Houston and quickly became one of the most sought-after hairstylists in the industry. Friends and colleagues remember him for his passion and the genuine care he put into every style he created. His talent wasn't just about hair; it was about inspiring everyone around him to dream bigger and work harder.

Ash Holm, known as Khloé Kardashian's go-to makeup artist, also shared her memories of Jesus, whom she considered a best friend. Ash and Jesus shared more than a professional relationship; they had a deep, personal friendship that started when they were hustling in Houston.

"I lost a best friend. A legend. @jesushair Most will remember Jesus as a brilliant celebrity hairstylist—one of the greatest to ever do it. But to me, he was so much more. He was a friend who believed in me before the world did, who supported me long before either of us made it to LA. We met in Houston around 2012, both worked at the Galleria Mall —he at Visible Changes Hair Salon, me at the MAC store. He'd stop by my store for makeup, and I'd visit him at the salon. We were young, hungry, and proud of where we worked, constantly hyping each other up, knowing we were meant for more," Ash wrote.

Adding, "On our lunch breaks, we'd meet in the food court, talking about our dreams, about the lives we wanted to build. We saw our worth—and most importantly, we saw it in each other. Most nights, we stayed up late doing hair and makeup on friends, posting our work, hoping someone would notice. And eventually, they did. Jesus moved to LA a few months before me, but before that, he & his BF Angel, introduced me to Lilly Ghalichi—our first celebrity client. When I finally moved and got to do Khloé Kardashian's makeup, I immediately pitched Jesus to do her hair. That's the kind of friendship we had—always lifting each other up, always making sure the other had a seat at the table."

Ash recalled fond memories of Jesus helping set up her new home in LA, a gesture that perfectly summed up his caring nature and his commitment to those he loved. "One memory I'll never forget: When Hamed and I moved to LA, we shipped a pod with all our belongings. I was still in Houston wrapping up bridal work, so I wasn't there to unpack. Without me asking, Jesus and his boyfriend at the time, Angel, just showed up. They unloaded everything, set up our space, and by the time I got home, our house was completely decorated. Jesus didn't even let Hamed have a say—he and Angel spent hours making our house feel like a home. That was Jesus. He didn't just show up—he showed up in every way that mattered. There are so many memories I could share, but these are just a few that remind me of the love, kindness, and magic he brought into this world. I will miss him forever. We will meet again friend. 🕊️🙏🏼"

Tributes from the Community

The outpouring of grief doesn't stop with Kylie or Ash Holm. Kendall Jenner's hairstylist, Jen Atkin, shared a tribute, writing: "Our hearts will never be the same. Such as loving light and talent that we lost too soon."

She continued, "Jesus gave his all to everything he did and he left such an impact on all that knew him. He showed up 10 years ago from Texas with all of this insane talent and warmth and an unforgettable SMILE. He was the first to come and bear hug you, play with your hair, and ask how you're doing. Once you met him, all you could do is root for him and hope for the best for him."

Moving Forward with a Heavy Heart

While the news of Jesus Guerrero's passing has left a big void in the entertainment and beauty communities, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched. Even in this time of grief, there is comfort in knowing that Jesus' spirit will continue to inspire future artists and friends.

If you've been following this story, you know that the loss is deeply felt by celebrities and everyone who admired and cared about his work. His journey may have ended too soon at 34, but his art, his kindness, and the love he shared will always be remembered.
