Selena Gomez never fails to keep us on our toes. Known as a "Wizards of Waverly Place" alum, she brought her signature mix of humor and genuine emotion to the 2025 SAG Awards. When the show announced "Only Murders in the Building" as the winner for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, Selena was in total shock. Standing there with her cast, she mouthed, "What?" as the reality of the moment sank in.

The night was full of surprises. Walking to the stage alongside Michael Cyril Creighton, Molly Shannon, and Richard Kind, the 32-year-old dazzled everyone with her custom navy Celine dress, drop earrings, and a bold red lip that perfectly matched her vibrant personality. Even in her stunned state, she asked her costars, "Do I have to talk? I can't talk."

Laughter, Gratitude, and a Touch of Self-Doubt

Despite her initial fear, Selena quickly turned the moment around with a speech that had everyone laughing. "Wait, we never win. This is so weird," she admitted. Her playful banter extended to mentioning costar Martin Short, who also took home a SAG Award, and even the absence of Steve Martin, with a remark that had the room chuckling. She thanked everyone involved – from the writers to her fellow actors – and shared heartfelt gratitude for the recognition.

"Well, Marty and Steve aren't here because, you know, they don't really care," Selena said. "But I don't know what to say. Thank you to Marty and Steve for helping raise me. I genuinely am just so grateful [to] everybody, the writers. Everyone deserves this, and I take it home for all of us."

 Looking Ahead

Selena hinted at new adventures with a nod to the future, saying, "I'm bringing this back to New York for season five. Thank you so much. I'm so grateful. Thank you, SAG-AFTRA. Thank you to everybody. I love you."
