Salma Hayek is known for keeping a close relationship with her blended family. The Mexican icon married her now-husband, François-Henri Pinault, in 2009, who was a father to three children at the time from his previous relationships.
The businessman is a father to Mathilde Pinault and François Pinault from his relationship with interior designer Dorothée Lepère. He also shares son Augustin with supermodel Linda Evangelista.
Salma and her husband welcomed daughter Valentina with Pinault in 2007, and the couple have built a strong bond with their kids ever since. The actress has proved that she is a proud stepmom, and has a great relationship with all the
members of her family.
Most recently, she showed love for Mathilde during her birthday. "Happy Birthday Tildie," Salma wrote on social media. "Wishing you a year as bright, beautiful, and full of promise as you are. So proud of the woman you’ve become! We love you," she added, posting a recent photo in Italy, as well as a childhood photo with Mathilde and Valentina.
Salma has always expressed her love for their kids, including Augustin, who is also close to Salma's mom, as she previously showed in throwback photos. "I always wanted to have a lot of children, and I was not able to. My body, as a miracle, had one," the star told Red magazine in 2017.
"The huge blessing I've had is that my husband has three other children. So I have four. And they are all so different," she said to the publication talking about her blended family with her husband.
She also shared a glimpse at her family dynamic during an interview with People in 2015. “It’s important that your kids understand that they are the most important thing but it’s not all about them," she said. "You set an example that you are also your own person and you have to continue to grow in the field that you are working.”
