Antonio Banderas just wants his daughter to be loved and to be happy. The Spanish actor was one of the guests at the beloved talk show, "El Hormiguero", where he was involved in a fun discussion that explored his upcoming projects, his love for cinema, and his sweet relationship with his daughter Stella.
Banderas revealed that Stella is getting married to her childhood sweetheart Alex Gruszynsky, the co-founder and CEO of NOVA, a marketplace for creative freelancers.
Banderas shared that he's very happy with Stella's decision since he loves her fiancé and has known him since he was a kid.
"My daughter Stella is getting married," said Banderas in the show, as reported by our sister website HOLA! Spain. "I'm happy because I really like who she's marrying. He used to come to my house to play when he was three or four years old since the two went to the same preschool."
"All I want is for my daughter to be loved, and he loves her a lot, and that's all that matters to me. I don't care about anything else. The wedding can be as simple as possible. We'll see if they make me a grandfather soon, we'll see!"
Stella's harrowing experience of the Los Angeles fires
Banderas also discussed more serious topics, like the Los Angeles fires. While he was safe in Spain, his daughter and part of his family were in Los Angeles when the fires raged for almost a month and had to leave their homes to escape the danger.
"I've had a bad time. It's been very tough," said Banderas.
Banderas and Melanie Grifftih were married for decades, with the two preserving a positive relationship and Banderas playing a key role in Grifftih's family. He explained that homes in Los Angeles are different than they are in places like Madrid.
"Homes there are not built like they are in Madrid, which are made out of bricks. Because those materials, with earthquakes, would collapse," he concluded.
