Kim Kardashian and Kanye West might not be a couple anymore, but they're clearly on the same page when it comes to showing up for their kids. Case in point: their oldest daughter, North West, absolutely crushed her performance at the Hollywood Bowl's Lion King concert event, and both Kim and Kanye were there backstage, giving their girl all the support.
The moment played out on the February 20 episode of "The Kardashians," where Kim admitted to having a "near heart attack" while watching North, 11, sing "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" for a packed crowd. But as Kim was anxiously pacing, Kanye was right there too, casually offering his input.
"Her dad has been involved and he came to rehearsal," Kim shared in a confessional, adding that when Kanye suggested changing the graphics for the show, she was quick to agree. "It will be a better production [if you take his notes]," she said, acknowledging his creative instincts.
What stood out, though, was how North centered herself before going on stage. She stood between her parents, holding both their hands, as they joined in a prayer circle.
After North's stellar performance, Kanye told her she did "so good," while North confessed she was "praying every second" to hit those notes. Her siblings, Chicago, 7, and Saint, 9, were also backstage, rounding out a rare, heartwarming glimpse of Kim and Kanye working together for their kids' happiness.
"It's such a proud moment as a mom to see your child have so much fun and not be nervous at all," Kim said, clearly beaming with pride.
Of course, co-parenting hasn't always been this smooth. The exes' 2021 split came with plenty of drama, much of it playing out publicly. On a previous season of "The Kardashians," Kim opened up about how Kanye's social media outbursts made things difficult, especially with him putting their private conversations online.
"Even through all of the craziness of everything that Kanye says about us, I never comment, I never post," Kim explained. "We stay silent, we stay silent through all the lies." She admitted that while his actions might hurt now, she believes keeping quiet is best for their kids in the long run.
Fast-forward to today, and Kim seems to have found her groove as a single mom of four — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm 5. A source told PEOPLE in October that Kim is "pretty much a single mom" since Kanye is "sadly not around very much." Still, she's making it work, balancing her career with being there for her kids 24/7.
As chaotic as things have been, seeing Kim and Kanye come together for North's big moment was a reminder that they're both rooting for their kids. And sometimes, that's all that really matters.
