Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas were spotted this weekend in London's Soho district, where they enjoyed a pleasant evening. Their meeting, which was witnessed by some passers-by who came across them, has triggered all kinds of rumors.
Is there romance on the horizon between the Hollywood megastar and the Cuban actress? The truth is that they went to dinner at one of the most famous restaurants in the city, on a very significant date: February 13, just one day prior to Valentine's Day, according to PEOPLE. Although, the Daily Mail reports that the date between them took place on February 14, actual Valentine's Day.
The 36-year-old actress wore a very casual look with blue jeans, a black blazer and golden ballerina flats, while leaving her brown hair in the wind. For his part, the Top Gun star opted for a navy blue suit that he paired with a gray polo shirt, giving a more casual touch to his look. Ana was carrying some grocery bags before getting into a cab when they were spotted by their fans.
At first, the actor couple looked a little surprised when they were recognized by their fans, however, Cruise proceeded to smile and chat with them and did not hesitate to take pictures. It's not every day you meet the star of Mission Impossible strolling down the street. For the fans, the surprise was a great one, getting to see the charm and charisma of one of Hollywood's biggest stars in person.
Although they have never worked together, Ana de Armas is a great admirer of Tom Cruise's work, especially after challenging to do her own action scenes, without a stunt double, in the movie Ghosted, starring Chris Evans. There, she had to train hard to give her best and make the scenes as believable as possible, and in an interview with USA Today, she admitted that, “I’m not at a Tom Cruise level yet, but I can appreciate what he does 100 percent now, and I totally get why he does it. He’s so mind-blowing.”
It's well-known that the actor has always refused the help of stuntmen in his various action scenes. In fact, when he gets into the spy's skin, Ethan Hawke does not use stuntmen, which has led him on occasion to suffer a major injury, such as when he broke his ankle in Mission Impossible 6: Fallout.
Since they both take their work so seriously, it seems like Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas could make a great couple. Still, a source tells PEOPLE that Cruise, de Armas, and their agents were "discussing potential collaborations down the line" at the dinner, and the pair "appeared to have no romantic connection, just friends."
